4/24/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved 1.Behavior: QMHP-C arrived to the school setting to escort Ashiyah to the home setting to conduct an individual session. During this time, Ashiyah appeared to be in a relaxed mood. QMHP-C discussed with Ashiyah that this session was going to focus on her communication skills and being as though her mother was at home, this session would consist of a family session. 2. Behavior: During the second portion of the session, Ashiyah appeared to be standoffish when discussing why she chooses to engage in negative behavior rather than problem-solve. 1.Intervention: QMHP-C began session by exploring her emotional well-being and recapped from the last session. QMHP-C engaged Ashiyah and Ms. Hodge in a mother /daughter exercise to teach them both how to be actively listen and communicate with each other in a positive manner without being negative, and engaging in negative confrontation. QMHP-C had to redirect Ashiyah on numerous occasions as she likes to talk over people and doesn't know how to listen thoroughly. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C modeled age-appropriate ways for Ashiyah to communicate with her mother instead of acting out by calling names and taught her how to eliminate disrespectful behaviors. QMHP-C discussed how her picking behaviors causes others to become angry and upset as well as how her behaviors are projected onto others as negative. QMHP-C had Ashiyah and Ms. Hodge to discuss positive things about each other and openly discussed each. 1. Response: Ashiyah was receptive to QMHP-C's suggestions. Ashiyah and Ms. Hodge both participated in the exercise as Ashiyah had to be redirected on several occasions. Ashiyah was refusing to listen and talk through the activity indicating that she knows how to communicate when she want something and when she need to when it is appropriate. 2. Response: QMHP-C educated Ashiyah on how this session wouldn’t have to focus on strengthening her communication if she knew how; therefore, it is necessary this session be conducted.
